My last blog entry was cut short when our bluetooth keyboard ran out of batteries. So much for technology. I'll just pick up where I left off... I'm now 13 weeks and beginning to feel more like myself. We'll have a scheduled Cesarean on the 16th or 17th of August. Hooray! Other news: I turned 30 in January (yikes!) so we went to Virginia Beach to celebrate. Unfortunately, it was one of the coldest weekends of the winter. Fortunately, Auntie Crystal came along (which always means a fantastic time for Jayson) and the hotel we stayed in had a great pool.

We also had our first snow in January and Jayson was so happy! It's been a very confusing winter for him without the typical dump of snow that we got in Utah. At school they've been talking about snow and reading books about building snowmen and he just didn't get it. On Christmas he was incredulous that Santa would even bother coming without seeing any snow here and how was the Polar Express possibly going to get to our house without snow to make it's tracks in? It was a great relief to him to see and feel the snow....it was finally winter.

Poor Aidan was sick that week so the closest he got to the snow was sitting in the blow-up sled before Jayson took it out to play when Jay got home.

We also celebrated Three Kings Day "Dora the Explorer" style. Jayson found the recipe for the cake that Dora had at her "fiesta" and printed off the template for the crown Dora wore as well. The cake was definitely the most disgusting that I've ever made but Jayson thought it was beautiful and refused to admit disappointment with our results.

9.2.09

Once again, I have neglected to keep up on our blog! Once again, this entry will be a catch-up of all of the events that have happened in the last...wow, couple of months!! Let's start with the exciting event of finding out about my pregnancy! We went to the doctor at ten weeks and were surprised to find out that it's standard procedure to do a vaginal ultrasound at the first appointment of every pregnancy so we got to see our little guy (or theoretically our little girl, but do you really think it's possible? After three boys in a row? We doubt it.) sort of waving his (or her) "limb buds" around in what seemed like a very large uterus already. I had to remind myself that the baby at that point really was only about the size of a tangerine. A plum. A really big walnut. It was exciting for us. I don't know why exactly, but Aidan was in fits of laughter through most of the ultrasound. He was looking right at the screen and really laughing. Jayson giggled too, but it was more of a pleased with himself giggle that started when he recognized something

Jayson singing "The World is So Big"

In case you have trouble understanding...

The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found.
Brothers and sisters and trees so tall,
animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found...
etc, etc.

The correct words are:
The world is so big and oh, so round
And in it God's creations are found.
Mountains and valleys and trees so tall,
Animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
God loves us all, His blessings abound

A Photographer in the Making

Jayson loves taking pictures! He took most of these while we were on vacation in Washington and a few at home. I love that he takes pictures of himself. He then asks me to show them to him and he giggles a little when he sees what terrific shots he's gotten.
