There's a First Time for Everything!
Today we found out that Jay's official start date for his consulting job in DC is June 15th so we've got a lot to do in a very short amount of time! We're all super excited to move! Jayson will be able to play at the playground then jump in the pool! We had a productive Memorial Day weekend...we cleaned the laundry room, did some yard work, and packed some things to prepare for the move. We also went to visit Jesse's grave and someone had brought 20 beautiful roses for him! It was such a sweet gesture and we're grateful to know that he is in the thoughts of our friends and family. Natalie went on Monday as well and we just really appreciate it. We had a BBQ with Matt and Tina yesterday in spite of the pouring rain and they tried out their new grill. It was very tasty. They even had a rotisserie chicken! Jayson and Mckinnon fought with each other for a few hours and were very sad to part when we left. They're the best of friends. Today Jay took Jayson to Mutual for a service project and they rototilled a ward member's garden. They're getting ready for the Stake Father/Son Camp out this Friday. I got a haircut today-it just gets shorter and shorter every time I go and I love it! Our firsts for today? Jayson: First hot dog...since yesterday. Aidan: first time eating a mixture of vegetables instead of just one mushed vegetable at a time. Steph: First blog post. Jay: first day in the last almost week that his eye hasn't pounded with pain..he has a sty in his eye! Eeeww!

I can't wait for Aidan to learn the Haka in New Zealand. Hopefully it will prove to be an effective way for him to release aggression, and he can stop throwing balls at my head.

Jayson singing "The World is So Big"
In case you have trouble understanding...
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found.
Brothers and sisters and trees so tall,
animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found...
etc, etc.
The correct words are:
The world is so big and oh, so round
And in it God's creations are found.
Mountains and valleys and trees so tall,
Animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
God loves us all, His blessings abound
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found.
Brothers and sisters and trees so tall,
animals big and animals small.

A Photographer in the Making
Jayson loves taking pictures! He took most of these while we were on vacation in Washington and a few at home. I love that he takes pictures of himself. He then asks me to show them to him and he giggles a little when he sees what terrific shots he's gotten.
