I'm soooo tired. I don't know why I'm still up! Jayson had his first dental appointment today because I was worried about his gums after he was so sick last week. The dentist was pretty sure that he had Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. He was shocked when I told him that I had taken him to the doctor and they hadn't mentioned that. Poor Jays. He still has an ulcer on the roof of his mouth between his two front teeth, but he hasn't complained at all (accept for the huge fight when we brush his teeth) and he was such a trouper when the hygienist put the x-ray film edge right on it! He started to cry a bit but he kept trying to bite down to please her. He started bleeding and it was so sad! She then took him to his little table to lay on and said "go ahead and lay back." Jayson just looked at her like she was crazy and said, "it's too scary, Mom!" We managed to coax him, but there was no way he was going to put headphones on and watch a movie...he knew he needed to keep all of his attention on that sneaky girl. He was totally fine through the cleaning and exam, and no cavities! Hooray! I think it's a miracle because Jay and I certainly haven't been doing much to help him out with his dental hygiene, unless you count buying him new toothbrushes all the time because he always leaves his laying around in unsanitary places (like the shopping cart at Wal Mart today- he brought his awesome new "Mater" toothbrush in with us). I cannot imagine why he's always sick. Who doesn't let their kids share a toothbrush with the dog, right? Jay FINALLY went to the doctor today after almost a week of dragging himself around. He's got some kind of bacterial throat infection. I knew he was faking it!
Anyway, enough sicky talk! It's so last season!! We're leaving the state in a week! I'm really excited, of course, but I have a gut feeling that we won't be gone for long. It's just one of those little whisperings, like my recurring dream about our Charlie (that other kid in our family that I keep calling and he just doesn't answer me, that naughty child!). Maybe it's just my brain's way of coping with it. Jayson seems to be very confused about it all and the more I try to explain it the more baffling it seems to become to him. Tonight he looked around his bare bedroom and said "it looks different in here Mom," and he asked me where all of it was, one thing at a time. I told him (for the millionth time) that everything is getting packed up so we can take it all to our new house in Virginia. He thought about it and then said, "our house is very heavy, Mommy. We will be very strong to carry our house and we will be underground to carry it." Ha, ha! I would never have considered that he would think that we're going to be moving the entire house. No wonder he's been so obsessed with the size of the moving truck. He keeps asking me how big it is. That would have to be one big truck to fit our whole house on it!
I've decided to totally commit myself to running the marathon in October. You would think that the whole $110 entry fee would be enough, but even that hasn't motivated me to get out the door for the past month. Anyone that knows me well knows that money to me is like...well, it has a habit of slipping through my fingers. IT does, meaning the money. Notice how I'm the victim here. Anyway, I read a greatly inspiring article in Runner's World, "Mission of the Marathon Moms" about two friends who decided to train for a marathon together (the same race that I'm doing!) and all of their struggles, triumphs, etc.... I just feel after reading it that my training for something again will be good for all of us...a way for me to meditate in a way, and have a release, which will mean less release in the form of losing patience with Jayson. Or Jay.
Okay...I have to go do the dishes before it gets any later!

In case you have trouble understanding...
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found.
Brothers and sisters and trees so tall,
animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found...
etc, etc.
The correct words are:
The world is so big and oh, so round
And in it God's creations are found.
Mountains and valleys and trees so tall,
Animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
God loves us all, His blessings abound

A Photographer in the Making
Jayson loves taking pictures! He took most of these while we were on vacation in Washington and a few at home. I love that he takes pictures of himself. He then asks me to show them to him and he giggles a little when he sees what terrific shots he's gotten.

Steph,
Guess what? You are so funny! Really. I have enjoyed talking with you. You have a very funny sense of humor. I love the way you relay stories and I had a good laugh over the talk with you and Jay about the lab coat tonight (hush - it's top secret!). Funny! I also love how you listen to my ramblings about education although inside I know you are thinking of how you can cut it all short. Hee hee. You don't think I know. :) Thanks for everything. I am going to miss you all!
