Breaking my Promise
We drove to Chesapeake Beach last weekend and it was so great! I felt like an ad for MasterCard though, because we had to pay $7 a person just to get onto the beach, then another $10 to use a beach umbrella. We'd also stopped at Whole Foods (the world's most expensive grocery store) and gotten some healthy food for lunch. And an enormous chocolate chip muffin for Jayson so he wouldn't starve. I decided to just tell myself (and Jay) that we were creating lasting family memories...priceless. The water was so warm and the beach umbrella provided some nice shade, which I find essential, since I start to melt after 2 or so minutes in the sun (and Aidan!). Jayson has always loved the beach, it's his favorite place. He built sandcastles and played on a giant wooden boat/playground. Aidan loved splashing in the waves then he had a nice long nap while I carried him up and down the pier. (warning! Illness talk ahead!)Jay was still sick but he was a trooper! He went back to the doc this morning and found out that he has Strep and an infection in his Lymph Nodes. Yuck! As soon as he's better, I'm going to pump my family so full of antioxidants and vitamins...I dare them to get sick again.

I can't wait for Aidan to learn the Haka in New Zealand. Hopefully it will prove to be an effective way for him to release aggression, and he can stop throwing balls at my head.

Jayson singing "The World is So Big"
In case you have trouble understanding...
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found.
Brothers and sisters and trees so tall,
animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found...
etc, etc.
The correct words are:
The world is so big and oh, so round
And in it God's creations are found.
Mountains and valleys and trees so tall,
Animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
God loves us all, His blessings abound

A Photographer in the Making
Jayson loves taking pictures! He took most of these while we were on vacation in Washington and a few at home. I love that he takes pictures of himself. He then asks me to show them to him and he giggles a little when he sees what terrific shots he's gotten.
