My last blog entry was cut short when our bluetooth keyboard ran out of batteries. So much for technology. I'll just pick up where I left off... I'm now 13 weeks and beginning to feel more like myself. We'll have a scheduled Cesarean on the 16th or 17th of August. Hooray! Other news: I turned 30 in January (yikes!) so we went to Virginia Beach to celebrate. Unfortunately, it was one of the coldest weekends of the winter. Fortunately, Auntie Crystal came along (which always means a fantastic time for Jayson) and the hotel we stayed in had a great pool.
We also had our first snow in January and Jayson was so happy! It's been a very confusing winter for him without the typical dump of snow that we got in Utah. At school they've been talking about snow and reading books about building snowmen and he just didn't get it. On Christmas he was incredulous that Santa would even bother coming without seeing any snow here and how was the Polar Express possibly going to get to our house without snow to make it's tracks in? It was a great relief to him to see and feel the snow....it was finally winter.
Poor Aidan was sick that week so the closest he got to the snow was sitting in the blow-up sled before Jayson took it out to play when Jay got home.
We also celebrated Three Kings Day "Dora the Explorer" style. Jayson found the recipe for the cake that Dora had at her "fiesta" and printed off the template for the crown Dora wore as well. The cake was definitely the most disgusting that I've ever made but Jayson thought it was beautiful and refused to admit disappointment with our results.
