Have it and Eat it

I've been taking a cake class and I wish I would have remembered to take more pictures of them each week, but here are just a few. I only have one more week left and have had so much fun learning with the other women in the class that I'm trying to talk them into taking a hip hop class with me next. Ha ha! I have made a great friendship with Amy, a teacher in the class who is hoping for a proposal from her boyfriend any day now...we're most likely signing up for a spinning class in February. Don't expect any pictures of that though.

I volunteered at Jayson's class party and a great time was had by all...we made gingerbread houses, sang Christmas songs, and were visited by who I thought was a rather scary Santa. At the end of the day I got to read aloud to the kids "Twas the Night Before Christmas".

Santa was a bit disappointing to me but later when I asked Jayson if he was the real Santa he did not hesitate to answer in the affirmative. After some lame questions Santa told Jayson merry Christmas and Jayson said "oh, thank you. Merry Christmas. I mean...Feliz Navidad! Feliz Navidad Santa." Our brilliant bilingual child. Unfortunately, due to hair in the ears (or so he told one of the other children) Santa didn't hear him say it.
This lesson in December marked our last Sunday teaching the CTR A 6 year olds. They were a fun class and we'll miss them. We've been released from our calling and (gulp) I will start teaching the beehives on the 2nd week of January.
Jay and I celebrated our seventh year of marriage, or "honeyversary" as we like to call it. Staying true to the traditional anniversary gift list, I bought Jay some brass collar stays. Jay was so thoughtful to replace my lost diamond (it fell out of my ring 6 or so months ago after two prongs broke off somewhere in Alexandria) with a beautiful new diamond ring. He wouldn't have given it to me any other way...

Some days are just so fun that we MUST break out the camera and capture all of our boys' cuteness!

There's a feature on our camera that automatically takes a series of three pictures in a row and Jayson and I love it! We've been working on getting some good action shots.

Jayson singing "The World is So Big"

In case you have trouble understanding...

The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found.
Brothers and sisters and trees so tall,
animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
And even God's creations are almost so found...
etc, etc.

The correct words are:
The world is so big and oh, so round
And in it God's creations are found.
Mountains and valleys and trees so tall,
Animals big and animals small.
The world is so big and oh, so round
God loves us all, His blessings abound

A Photographer in the Making

Jayson loves taking pictures! He took most of these while we were on vacation in Washington and a few at home. I love that he takes pictures of himself. He then asks me to show them to him and he giggles a little when he sees what terrific shots he's gotten.
