In the last couple of weeks we've had a lot of rain. It seemed like the perfect time to visit a few of the great FREE museums in DC. I love this city and will miss having access to so much for the boys to see and experience. I never have any problem finding something to demonstrate what I'm teaching them at home.
National Building Museum with Jackson and William
Cabbage experiment with dancing during the wait.
Lake Accotink for playgroup and lunch
Leaf Imprints
On Columbus Day we thought we had Nature Quest but it was cancelled so we hiked around the pond and "explored" like Christopher Columbus.
Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria
Jayson's soccer practice.
Our little guys finally hatched, one at a time. Two days later they mated. They're just gross.
We studied Africa this week so we went to the Zoo to see the African animals. And play in the prairie dog tunnels. We spent most of our time staring in horror at the Goliath Bird-eating Tarantula. Except Aidan. He couldn't look at it. Too creepy. (okay, obviously I'm not a bug lover. I'm not a bug hater either. There's just something so repulsive yet so fascinating at the same time. Like pimples or bacteria.)
National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center with Jackson and William. This trip reignited space-frenzy in our house. Get out the astronaut suits, Mom! We're not taking them off for at least a week!
Astronaut ice cream!
Making space/air stuff
Dedecohedron
Hat weather!
It suddenly got very quiet during our night time prayer. Thirty seconds later...
