...Best Halloween week EVER! Jay also discovered his new passion: pumpkin carving. Whittling. We went to the zoo one night for dinner and stayed to play in the gopher tunnels after dark. Very spooky. Note to self: stop trying to post blog entries after midnight...no...brain...power..left...
We made popcorn balls with M&Ms,
and carved pumpkins. Jay became and was a professional pumpkin carver for almost three hours on Saturday morning. He got a blue ribbon at the church Halloween party that night. People couldn't believe it was real. I just couldn't believe that he actually spent that much time on it. Jay designed his own pumpkin and I carved it. Aidan tried to eat some raw pumpkin seeds.
The master at his work.
Charlie was the cutest pilot ever thanks to some swim goggles.
We watched a scary movie together as a family (Casper) until they started using profanity (PG!). Scaaaary!
Trick or treat round one: Ward Halloween Party complete with chili cookoff and trunk or treating. Beep, beep...what else could these techy robot lovers be!?
After the party, home to take inventory. It was a late night.
Round two: After church on Sunday we frantically ate dinner and finished just as we were getting our first trick or treaters. Then the boys took off and didn't stop for a whole hour! Great little robots!
a reenactment starring us.
Monday morning: A recount. Yummy.
This month we are focusing on Thanksgiving, naturally. Early American history, Native Americans, farms, turkeys, counting by 5s, punctuation, famous sculptures (like the Statue of Liberty, which we will be visiting next week!)
turkey books
painting a Native American mural with feathers
popping Indian corn
Soap monsters
We have rediscovered the fun of swords lately. Danger.

Wow, that pumpkin looks great! I can see Jesse wanting to take on a task like that. By the way, I LOVE your family pictures! Does she travel to Nebraska? ;) You look stunning.
